Accelerated BSN Admissions
Enrolling in Misericordia University’s accelerated nursing program can get you on the fast track to a new career in nursing, but first you must meet the accelerated BSN admissions requirements. Once you meet the requirements and are able to become a Misericordia ABSN student, you can apply for one of three annual start dates in January, May, or August.
We know applying to and getting into nursing school can get stressful, so we keep the ABSN admissions process simple. Our dedicated admissions team works exclusively with prospective ABSN students to help smooth the process and take away as much stress as possible. They’re readily available to assist you through the admissions process step-by-step, which begins with a conversation to determine if our program is compatible with your educational and professional goals.
Your assigned admissions counselor can help you understand the amount of time and effort our ABSN program requires. Some compare the program curriculum to a full-time job. So being realistic about the life obligations you’ll need to complete while enrolled in the program is vital to choosing the right start date.
You’ll work closely with your counselor throughout the rest of the application process. Expect this individual to stay in touch with you to offer support and keep you on track as you work toward a program start date.
Do I need to complete prerequisites before I apply to the ABSN program?
Yes, you must complete at least eight prerequisites to be eligible to apply for our program. For more information on these courses and our grade requirements, please take a look at our prerequisite requirements.
Can I work during the Accelerated BSN program?
Our full-time 16-month accelerated nursing program follows a rigorous, fast-paced format that requires significant amounts of time and energy. While we understand some students may have to work during the program, we generally don’t recommend it. Consult with your admissions counselor to help you understand your options.
How do I start my nursing school application?
You’ll first need to verify your program eligibility with an admissions counselor. If you meet our admissions requirements, you can expect to work closely with him or her to navigate the rest of the admissions process. He or she can ensure you don’t miss the deadline specified for your target start date, as the process requires a lot of steps and documentation.
