Message From the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Director

Welcome, and thank you for considering the Misericordia University Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program to begin your journey to the nursing profession. Our 16-month program near Pittsburgh allows motivated students like you to realize their dream of becoming a nurse on an accelerated timeline.

Launched in 2019, our ABSN program builds on Misericordia University’s 90-year history of preparing qualified, practice-ready nurses who can successfully pass the NCLEX examination and move quickly into the job market. Rooted in faith-based traditions and the core values of mercy, service, justice, and hospitality, Misericordia nurses stand apart in their practice of the science, art, and caring traditions of nursing.

To prepare you for the ever-evolving world of health care, our program has three unique elements. First, we offer students nursing theory courses in a completely online, asynchronous environment. This allows you to do your coursework when it works best for you. Second, you will come to our state-of the art facility in Robinson Township for hands-on experience in simulation and clinical skills development. And finally, you will have quality clinical rotations at premiere healthcare facilities near Pittsburgh, including Allegheny Health Network.

If you’re ready and committed to becoming a nurse on an accelerated timeline, we’d love to have you in our ABSN program. We can’t wait to see where your Misericordia BSN takes you.
