About the Misericordia Nursing Department
With nursing being one of the first programs offered through Misericordia University, our Nursing Department has been educating exceptional nurses to serve the health care needs of their communities for more than 90 years.
As the largest discipline within Misericordia’s College of Health Sciences and Education, we offer a variety of accredited undergraduate and graduate nursing programs that maintain high academic and professional standards that are grounded in the sciences, liberal arts, and evidence-based practices.

With a collective department focus on wellness, acute hospital-based practice, and community-based practice, you’ll find that we’re committed to giving you all the clinical tools and support you need to succeed in the changing world of health care.
In terms of our nursing faculty, you won’t find a more dedicated group of scholars focused on academic excellence, service leadership, and professional preparation. In fact, our Nursing Department consistently yields high first-time NCLEX pass rates. Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates achieved a first-time NCLEX-RN® pass rate of 80.43% in 2022.
By graduating from the Nursing Department at Misericordia University, you’ll be prepared to deliver safe, effective patient care in a variety of health care settings and work with an outlook grounded in the values of mercy, service, justice, and hospitality, whether you’re working alone or as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.

Why Is the NCLEX Pass Rate Important?
The NCLEX-RN® is a national exam all nursing school graduates must take and pass to receive licensure and to practice as a registered nurse. Misericordia University BSN graduates’ 2022 first-time NCLEX pass rate of 80.43% shows our ABSN program is part of a nursing department focused on your success.
